Four More Sleeps Until Opening Day: Rangers Win in Extra Innings

Who’s ready? Only a few days away now!

Just a quick summary here, the Texas Rangers beat the Seattle Mariners in the second to last game before camp breaks in Arizona. Colby Lewis took the mound for his last appearance prior to Saturday April 2nd’s day game against the Red Sox. Lewis went five innings giving up three hits and three runs but picking up four strikeouts. Darren Oliver and Mason Tobin both picked up scoreless hitless innings giving some encouragement to bullpen strength this year. Michael Young had a three RBI game, Adrian Beltre had his sixth RBI of the spring and Matt Treanor hit his first home run of the spring.

Today at 3:10pm the Rangers play the Arizona Diamondbacks in the last game in Arizona, and Tuesday evening they play Coastal Carolina in Myrtle Beach. On Wednesday they travel to the Dell Diamond to play Rangers AAA affiliate the Round Rock Express; this is a game I will be covering in detail as I will be part of “Chevrolet’s Line Drive to Round Rock” with other bloggers who will be traveling to the game. More on that to come!

Happy Monday
