This evening at 7:05 the Texas Rangers take on the Oakland Athletics for the second game of a three-game series. The two teams have met five times this season and the Rangers have only won one of those games. The one win for the Rangers occurred the last time today’s starting pitchers faced off. Colby Lewis (2-4) takes on Brett Anderson (2-2) at the Rangers Ballpark in Arlington.

The Rangers are in a disappointing position in the American League West, they are currently in third place behind the Angels and the Athletics. There is hope however for today’s game.

The last time these two pitchers met the Rangers won that game 11 to 2. This was the game where Michael Young hit his first home run of the season. Nelson Cruz and Mike Napoli each had home runs in this game as well. Elvis Andrus was able to steal a base on Anderson so watch to see how aggressive they are on the base paths.

On the other side Oakland was able to hit the long ball against Lewis. The two runs in that game came courtesy of solo home-runs from Kurt Suzuki and Josh Willingham.

Predictions:

The Rangers need to rack up some wins quickly, and they were able to knock Anderson around the last time they met. Rangers will win this one 7 to 4.
