Frisco RoughRiders Statistician- Michael Damman

Chatter from the Pressbox: with Frisco’s Statistician Michael Damman

Wanted to give a quick plug today to Michael Damman, he is the 22 year old statistician for the Frisco RoughRiders. In my trip to Frisco last weekend everyone I encountered was great, but Michael was a lot of fun to talk to. If you are interested in keeping up with that “other” baseball team in DFW his blog is a one-stop shop.

Chatter from the Pressbox is a compendium of game-notes, updates from around the Rangers farm system and interesting stats. Similar to what the Dallas Stars PR department puts together, Michael does the same for every game. You can also follow him on twitter @pressboxchatter.

He also offered up this interesting fact Saturday night on twitter (which has certainly changed by now) “So far in the Texas League there have been 448 homeruns in 474 games. Last year there were 791 homeruns in 1,118 games.”

I’m still trying to figure out the game they were playing between every half inning, it involved where the ball landed that the catcher throws back to the pitcher’s mound. This is a must-visit site for fans of the Texas Rangers who want info on the next big thing!
