The Rangers took care of business after finishing their inter-league schedule. Last night on our Nation’s birthday, Texas crushed Baltimore 13 to 4. Pitching was solid, as we saw another quality start from Colby Lewis. The Texas offense stepped up as well, and was able to knock the ball around well.
Lewis went a full seven innings allowing five hits and three runs. All three-runs were results of home runs, Lewis also earned four strikeouts and allowed three to walk. Darren O’Day had another shot in relief and gave up a solo home run, and Arthur Rhodes finished the 9th with no hits and no runs scored.
On the offensive side, Endy Chavez and Adrian Beltre each had home runs in the game. David Murphy, Yorvit Torrealba, Michael Young, Josh Hamilton, Craig Gentry and Nelson Cruz all had RBIs in the game. Michael was just a home-run shy of the cycle before Ron Washington pulled him from the game. The team as a whole was 6-for-13 with runners in scoring position.
