The Rangers Win and Lose Tonight – A Reminder to Keep Things in Perspective

One year and one day after a fan fell last season in Rangers Ballpark – another fan fell, this time over the left-field wall. The Rangers home broadcast did not show what happened, however the Oakland broadcast did. The fan was reaching over the left-field wall to catch a ball and fell, he was rushed to the hospital but passed away as a result. It’s important to keep these things in mind – we are fans of a game and Ranger fans are a family. Our thoughts are with the fan’s family and friends. I was finishing up my recap of the game when the news broke. Nolan Ryan spoke after the game to say that the staff was very heavy-hearted, and the players did not speak after the game.

No recap tonight, the Rangers won – but lost so much more. Again our condolences go out to the fan’s family and friends.

Update: We’ve learned that the man who fell Brownwood firefighter Shannon Stone, we will update you as we learn of any thing being done to benefit the Stone family.
