The Texas Rangers won today 2 to 0 over the Oakland A’s. This marks the seventh win in a row, and the second sweep in a row. The Rangers will finish the first-half a full game above the Angels at the All-Star break.

Matt Harrison evened out his record at 7 and 7, with a solid win for Texas. Harry went 7.2 innings allowing six hits and no runs. He earned seven strikeouts and only allowed one to walk. Not much more to say, other than he was impressive and battled the entire game. From here Mark Lowe pitched the last out of the eighth and Neftali Feliz earned his 18th save of the season.

For the offense we have one guy – Adrian Beltre. With Hamilton walked and sitting on first base, Beltre smashed a ball 400ft for his 19th home run of the season. Ian Kinsler also picked up a hit extending his hitting streak to nine.

Short but sweet recap today, much like the game that only took 2 hours and 21 minutes to complete. The Rangers get a much needed break now, and don’t play another until late Thursday night against the Mariners.

Stay tuned to Nolan Writin’ throughout the break – starting tomorrow we will have profiles on each of the Rangers five All-Stars, as well as some other goodies to get you through the break!
