5 games into the preseason and it’s already interesting to see how the story lines are working out so far for the Texas Rangers. While almost completely ignored by both ESPN, the MLB network and all network news agencies this Spring Training is taking a strange appearance in Surprise.

The stardom of Yu Darvish is the big story that Rangers fans should have expected and as of yet we have not been let down by either his performance or the media response to the Japanese phenom. But what has been ignored by the national sports media are the performance of Josh Hamilton and Mike Napoli v, anyone other than Yu Darvish who is a pitcher, and the look and feel of the team. This gap may be partly responsible for the over reaction from Rangers nation.
