Murphy joined the Rangers on July 31, 2007 as part of the trade that sent Eric Gagne to the Boston Red Sox and Murphy, Kason Gabbard and Engel Beltre were sent to the Rangers. Since the trade Murphy has spent 5 seasons in the majors but never being able to take hold of any of the outfield positions as his own.
I am married to a wonderful woman who relunctantly tolerates baseball. I have three great kids who chase down autographs and foul balls with the best of them.
