The Countdown Continues: Yu Darvish

To not repeat the oft quoted stats of Darvish while in Japan I will sum up his time there as him being the ultimate pitcher in the Japanese league, including some records that will likely stand for some time.

He has had three starts in this Spring Training so far. He has been more than serviceable, even with the limited body of work he has been able to put up with. Yu’s spring training has shown that he is not scared to go against the best in the majors with his entire assortment of pitches. While Rangers faithful and the majority of scouts will talk of Darvish’s 7 pitches, naysayers will say he has variations on 4. Fear not this battle will continue through the length of his career.

2012 will be a year that Yu Darvish and most of the fans of the Texas Rangers will likely not forget soon. I do not think his move to the American style of baseball will repress his stats. Instead I think he will put himself forward as a viable option as the number 1 starter for the Rangers. I think he will win at least 14 games this year.
Darvish will be but one part of the Butcher’s Row that is the Rangers rotation.

As Always Go Rangers
