The worst part of Spring Training is going on right now for hundreds of players. Everyone who has ever signed to play professional ball has lived up to the top of their dreams. For every single player that has ever signed a contract thousands more have never been able to reach that level. Yet the act of signing the contract is not the top of the pyramid, it is merely getting out of the sand.
So far the Hickory Crawdads the low class A affiliate and the Myrtle Beach Pelicans the high class A affiliate of the Texas Rangers have announced their opening day rosters. In some cases players moved up from low to high A, or from short season A to low A these movements are expected in most cases. But sometimes the organization feels that a player may gain something from repeating a year. This isn’t a bad thing, but few get more than a single year redo.

I am married to a wonderful woman who relunctantly tolerates baseball. I have three great kids who chase down autographs and foul balls with the best of them. I have been a fan of baseball my entire life, literally at a Big Red Machine game while in utero. I love my Texas Rangers since I can remember, I remember Mitch Williams being a Texas Ranger okay? While I am away from Texas I have the pleasure of watching the Rangers prospects playing with the Hickory Crawdads and Myrtle Beach Pelicans.
The Texas Rangers Farm System, past and present is a real treat for me and will be happy to answer any prospect question you may have.
