Texas Rangers bag and bats: Jake Roth-US PRESSWIRE

The worst part of Spring Training is going on right now for hundreds of players. Everyone who has ever signed to play professional ball has lived up to the top of their dreams. For every single player that has ever signed a contract thousands more have never been able to reach that level. Yet the act of signing the contract is not the top of the pyramid, it is merely getting out of the sand.

In some cases players moved up from low to high A, or from short season A to low A these movements are expected in most cases. But sometimes the organization feels that a player may gain something from repeating a year. This isn’t a bad thing, but few get more than a single year redo.
