After three exhibition games the Texas Rangers know have their sights set on opening day. On April 6, 2012 the Rangers will start the defense of their back to back American League championships. It will also be the first step on the road to getting back to the World Series. During the entire spring training the Rangers have tried new players to see if they fit, some did and some didn’t. In the end the result has to be a team that works well together.

Colby Lewis is on the mound going against former Rangers prospect John Danks on Opening Night. With the schedule the Rangers have a shot at jumping out to a 10-0 start with series against the Chicago White Sox, the Seattle Mariners and the Minnesota Twins. It also gives the Rangers the shot of going through the rotation twice before facing their first real threat, which is a gauntlet of the Red Sox, the Tigers, the Yankees and the Rays. Combined the Rangers could realistically be looking at ending April with a 17 and 6 record which will be a good way to start the year.
