Mother Nature apparently had different plans in mind for the Hickory Crawdads opening day. Rain began falling about an hour before game time and now a good 4 and half hours later the rain is still falling. Even as the rain was coming down there was a decent crowd out at the newly renamed CMC NorthEast Stadium. While it was a predominately a hometown Intimidators crowd I was not alone in my Crawdad gear.

The rainout will be made up as part of a now double header that will be played on Saturday 4/7. As with most minor league double headers, they will most likely be 7 inning games. Tomorrow’s game will feature Victor Payano as the Crawdads starter.
