But after losing any sense of control during the 3rd inning Faulkner was pulled after 2 and 2/3 inning. He gave up 6 walks and 2 hits which allowed 4 runs to score and chalking up only a single strikeout. On to replace him was Randol Rojas. Rojas pitched for the rest of the game for the Crawdads and thus was able to give the bullpen a rest. Rojas went 5.1 innings with 4 strikeouts and only a single walk and 1 hit.

Offensively the first run was scored by Hanser Alberto who drove in Luis Sardinas on a force play following Sardinas’ single. In the top of the 7th Jeremy Williams drove in Jorge Alfaro who had reached on a double.

The final run of the game was scored on the first home run of the season by Jordan Akins on a gigantic homerun that went well over the Green Monster in left center. He was 1 for 3 in the game with a strikeout to go along with his homerun. He is hitting .188 for the season.

The game came down to the final swing of the bat for Rougned Odor who came on to pinch hit for Kellin Deglan in the bottom of the 9th. Jorge Alfaro singled but was stranded as Odor flied out to left field to end the game.

It was a tough 4-3 loss, but the young Crawdads can learn from this lesson.

As always go Crawdads and Rangers.
