Robert Ross has become a shooting star in the Texas Rangers. As a home grown talent he has been able to single handedly show the whole of the Rangers fan club as well as baseball as a whole the quality of the pitching that is in the Rangers farm system. The time last month he was contemplating another season in the minor leagues and now he has 2 major league wins. Baseball is quirky that way.
Ross was one of the LHRP who was looked at during the offseason to fill the hole created by Mike Gonzalez and Darren Oliver in the bullpen. Along with Ross the other southpaws that were looking for the job were Michael Kirkman, Martin Perez, Mitch Stetter, Joe Beimel, Kelvin De La Cruz, and Neal Cotts. All of which were expected to have a better chance at the job than Ross had.
