After a wild first week of the 2012 campaign the Texas Ranger have today off to rest and regroup. They enter today’s break at 8-2. The next day off for the Rangers will be April 26th. Before then they will go through the Boston Red Sox, Detroit Tigers and New York Yankees.
In AAA Round Rock, the Express will face the Iowa Cubs. Fresh off their win Sunday against Iowa top pitching prospect Martin Perez will be on the mound. This will be his third start of the year. His last against the Omaha Storm Chasers was a rough start. In 5.2 innings pitched gave up 3 runs on 6 hits with 2 walks and 5 strikeouts. Perez’s ERA for the season is 3.09. The Round Rock Express are 4-7, this is game 12 on the year.
I am married to a wonderful woman who relunctantly tolerates baseball. I have three great kids who chase down autographs and foul balls with the best of them. I have been a fan of baseball my entire life, literally at a Big Red Machine game while in utero. I love my Texas Rangers since I can remember, I remember Mitch Williams being a Texas Ranger okay? While I am away from Texas I have the pleasure of watching the Rangers prospects playing with the Hickory Crawdads and Myrtle Beach Pelicans.
The Texas Rangers Farm System, past and present is a real treat for me and will be happy to answer any prospect question you may have.
