AAA Round Rock Express is also going to be changing up their starting rotation. As of April 19, 2012 Mark Hamburger will return to the bullpen and LHP Michael Kirkman will replace him in the rotation. Kirkman was in the race to get the left handed specialist job in the Rangers bullpen until the very end of Spring Training. So far this year he has appeared in 5 games and is 0-0 with no saves. He has an 11.12 ERA but has appeared in only 5.2 innings. Yesterday’s loss pushed the Express to a 5-10 record, today’s game will be game number 16.

The AA Frisco RoughRiders will have Jacob Brigham on the mound tonight. He is 1-0 with a 1.64 ERA so far for the year. Brigham is showing a good BB-K ratio of 1-2 already and had it been not been for two errant balls that were slammed for home runs he would have not surrendered a run the entire year. The number of hits he has allowed is at a good pace for him to be successful. He will try to keep the momentum going from yesterday’s ‘Rider’s 10-0 trouncing of the Corpus Christi Hooks. The win puts the ‘Riders at 9-4 going into game 14.

Class A Advanced Myrtle Beach Pelicans won yesterday’s game with 9th innings heroics. Today the Pelicans are going with Kyle Hendricks toeing the rubber first. He has a 0-2 record and an ERA of 2.61. Yet for his two starts Hendricks has only pitched through 10.1 innings. His BB-K ration is almost 1-2. The Pelicans are now 7-6 on the year, and tonight’s game is number 14 for the year.

The A Hickory Crawdads also had a solid win today, beating the Savannah Sand Gnats 7-1. For the ‘Dads tonight will be pitcher Will Lamb. It appears that the Crawdads may be tinkering with their starters since Santo Perez who had been a starter twice this year recorded the save for last night’s game. Lamb’s start is also one position ahead of where he normally pitches. His last game was on April 15 vs. the Asheville Tourists when he went 5.0 innings, giving up 5 hits and 4 runs. Lamb needs to put that game behind him and focus on returning to form. With last night’s win the Crawdads are now 9-5 with tonight’s game being game 15 for the year.

Good Luck Everyone.
