Yu Darvish pitched pretty well on Sunday — nothing superlative — and Texas’ offense was playing ketchup all day. Joe Nathan gave up a two-out RBI hit to Kyle Seager in the top of the 9th, so he took the loss.

The Rangers now play at home against the Astros, while the A’s host the Mariners.

The Mariners seem to be Joe Nathan’s kryptonite.

    Very frustrating game to watch.

Our defense absolutely gave away a run on 3 consecutive bonehead plays, and it could have been worse. The worst part of that is, none of them were Yu’s fault, and yet none were counted as errors, so he gets penalized.

Then Ross sucked at stranding runners for like the 35,000th time. No, Nathan shouldn’t have given up that hit to Seager, but he was hardly the first to blow it.

Left handers have been killing Ross lately. I was really surprised by that move when we had Scheppers available.

I think Cotts was the better move, his home run the night before notwithstanding.

I would never have brought Darvish out for the 8th inning. I do not care what Yu and Wash sat but Darvish was gassed. This is not second guessing since I made this call as soon as the top of the 7th ended. We should have gone to the bullpen.
