Nelson Cruz Rejects Qualifying Offer from Rangers


The Rangers have been informed that Nelson Cruz will seek a multi-year deal from someone and has rejected the Texas Rangers qualifying offer.

This does not mean that the Texas Rangers won’t resign him, it just means that other teams will now have the same opportunity to sign him to a multi-year deal and if someone else signs him, the Texas Rangers get a first round pick from that team. My feelings are that the Rangers will not be able to re-sign Nelly, although I would like them to. I have a feeling Nelson Cruz will get a 3-5 year contract worth somewhere around the $10 to $15  million a year range. Don’t think the Texas Rangers will go there for him.
