Also, Craig Gentry also shared some time in left field.   Gentry mainly put in time in center field, but did play 34 games in left field.  Statistically speaking, Gentry played center field better than left.  In left field he had a fielding percentage of .976 versus his fielding in center which was .993.

Gentry did have a much better year at the plate than David Murphy, but who didn’t.  He had a batting line of .280/.373/.386/.759 with 22 RBI, 12 doubles, 4 triples, and 2 home runs.  He was third in batting average for the Texas Rangers.  Also, he was third in the club for stolen bases at 24, behind Leonys Martin who had 36 and Elvis Andrus who had 42.

Even though Gentry did have a good year at the plate, the Texas Rangers were looking for more power from their outfielders and sent Craig Gentry to the Oakland Athletics in a 4-player deal that included Josh Lindblom and the Rangers received in return Michael Choice and Chris Bostick.
