I asked who you thought would make the biggest impact on the Texas Rangers 2014 season and you answered: J.P. Arencibia.

It was a close race between J.P. Arencibia and Michael Choice with 34 to 29 votes respectively.  I must admit that I was surprised that Arencibia received the most votes.  However, even more surprising is that Alex Castellanos and Adam Rosales received just one vote each.

I think we all know that J.P. Arencibia brings a heavy bat to the Texas Rangers lineup, but with him being the back up for Geovany Soto, I don’t expect to see him in the everyday lineup.  That said, your number two pick, Michael Choice, could be an everyday starter in the OF.

I voted for Choice, even though he, too, will probably be a bench player at the beginning of the season.  I fully expect for him to become a regular by the end of the season.  I think he has the biggest advantage in terms of playing with a new team.  Choice is from Arlington which will have him back at home where he feels comfortable.  Michael Choice played three years for UT at Arlington where he batted .392 and hit 34 homers for a school record.

There is no doubt in my mind that both of these players will make a huge impact on the Texas Rangers this season.  I for one cannot wait to see it!
