Russell Wilson arrived at Texas Rangers camp today to a flurry of media.

He spoke to the team this morning and even worked out with Ron Washington on the field a little bit

Ron Washington already said that he will not play in today’s Cactus League game against the Indians. Russell Wilson was brought in (in my opinion) to bring that winning attitude and extreme work ethic that he has to some of the younger players and even some of the veterans. You really can’t go wrong having a guy that works as hard as Russell Wilson does talk to your team about passion and work ethic. Work ethic is something that really can’t be taught, but it can be practiced. If a player is inherently lazy, then that is who he is going to be most of the time. But on a rare occasion, someone like a Russell Wilson can motivate a player to be better and to work harder, and that is what the Texas Rangers were going for (in my opinion) when they brought Wilson to camp.

It should be a fun day in Arizona, and I am sure our own Lisa Weatherall, who is at camp, will have something to say about the way the day went with Russell Wilson there. The important thing, as always, is the players get their work in and that they continue to improve as opening day gets closer.
