With only 12 days left until Texas Rangers Opening Day there are still a few questions left regarding the final 25-man Roster. One of those questions: Which outfielder should be on the bench, Engel Beltre or Michael Choice?

There is no denying that these two young men have some similarities, both play outfield. Engel Beltre and Michael Choice are two of the Texas Rangers’ top young prospects, who were born in 1989 just nine days apart. They both played Triple-A ball and were called up at the end of the 2013 season. But, is that where the similarities end? It is no surprise to anyone who knows me or reads anything I write/post/tweet that my personal favorite is Michael Choice. However, I know to make a valid argument for my pick I will have to use numbers to present my case. So without further ado…..

I am 99% sure Choice makes this team. Beltre may be a good player one day, but Choice has the chance to be a good player now, and the Rangers are trying to win now.

I agree completely. I like how JD said that Choice has nothing to prove in MiLB, and here Beltre is still there through 3 options.
