The Texas Rangers offense has been very quiet lately at home, but at least Leonys Martin has been playing well.   Besides for he outstanding fielding and his amazing play the other night against the A’s, his bat at home has been very good also.

If you missed his amazing catch and throw him out at first on April 28, 2014 against the Oakland Athletics, it is well worth a watch.  That single play had 3, awesome moments, the catch, the throw and the out.

Leonys Martin managed to go 1 for 4 last night, which extended his home hitting streak to 9 games.  He is now batting .400 (12-30) over that 9 game span.  For the season at home, Martin is batting .382, has 9 RBI and is .533 (8-15) with RISP.

With the way he’s been batting, you would figure he would be a great guy to put in the number 2 spot.  He did play there last Tuesday, maybe Washington should give him another shot during a home game.   During that game, he went 0-2 with a walk.

Here is another shot of the amazing by Leonys Martin

It is nice the Rangers have some bright spots in their lineup right now.  With Josh Wilson, Donnie Murphy, Elvis Andrus and J.P. Arencibia all struggling, it is nice to see someone hitting the ball and driving in a few runs.

For the season, Martin is batting .284 with 2 triples and one home run.  His batting average is the third base among the Rangers.
