The Texas Rangers Season is Lost

The Texas Rangers can’t be happier about getting out of Baltimore, it treated them pretty miserably. Today they get to celebrate the Fourth of July by heading to NY to take on the Mets, a team that I would say is struggling, but come on, no one is really struggling compared to the Texas Rangers.

Not only are they winless in July, but they have lost 10 of their last 12. They are having a season meltdown of epic proportions at the moment. This team is taking the dog days of summer very seriously this season. Technically, they are still in the hunt for the wild card, but I think that we all know how this season is going to end: No wild card, no post season, and the Astros are going to pass us up for fourth place.

I am at peace with that now, although I am not happy about it. I was holding out hope that this young team could find a way to gel and start working together, but that hope is now gone. I will just continue enjoying watching Rougned Odor make really good plays in the field and have really good plate appearances, I will continue to watch Leonys Martin make spectacular catches in the outfield, and I will enjoy watching Adrian Beltre for as long as he is still here.

Never will I give up on the Texas Rangers franchise, I will always be a fan, but I am also a realist. This season is now optically lost, I think it might even be time to start my off-season beard.
