Texas Rangers Call Up Nate Adcock

The Texas Rangers have placed Mitch Moreland on the 60 day disabled list and called up right handed relief pitcher Nate Adcock from Round Rock.

Nate Adcock has pitched in 13 games so far in 2014 after missing most of the season due to Thoracic Outlet Syndrome. He was out until June 5 according to Jeff Wilson of the Ft. Worth Star Telegram.

Nate Adcock has an ERA of 2.76 with 14 strikeouts and 5 walks in 16.1 innings pitched. The Texas Rangers are hoping to sure up that bull pen a little more after they had to use everybody  the other day in the 14 inning marathon they played against the Yankees.

Nate Adcock has some major league experience, getting into 36 games with the Royals between 2011 and 2012, and he has a career MLB ERA of 3.79, but his ERA in 2012 was 2.34. Nate Adcock should be used as a late inning guy now that Joakim Soria is gone, which probably means that Neftali Feliz will be handling the closing duties for the remainder of the season.

I expect more trades to come in the near future, like maybe Neal Cotts and Alex Rios, so stay tuned to NolanWritin for all of your breaking Texas Rangers news over this crazy trade deadline!
