J.P. Arencibia: Offensive Machine

Since being called back up to play first base for the Texas Rangers, J.P. Arencibia has played better than expected, at least better than I expected. I believe no one say last night coming though.

J.P. Arencibia had 2 home runs and seven RBI in lasts evenings 12-11 loss to the Yankees, and if there is one thing I took away from that game it is that now the Texas Rangers are playing hard every game. They no longer look like a team that has given up on the season.

"“We didn’t quit,” said Rangers manager Ron Washington after the game. “We kept fighting. If you go back to the sixth inning, not many people thought we had a chance, but we were one swing away and had the right man at the plate. We just didn’t get it done.” texasrangers.com"

The Texas Rangers fought back all night, and they had the bases loaded with two outs in the ninth inning with Adrian Beltre at the plate. Just the situation you want. Although Beltre did not get it done, it was still an amazing game to watch as a sports fan.

J.P. Arencibia seems to be hitting his hot streak for the season. If he continues to play like he did last night he may raise his batting average over .200 for the first time in a very long time. I wouldn’t expect a 7 RBI night from J.P. Arencibia every night going forward, but after watching his swings last night, I would have to say that he is locked in at the plate, and that is nothing but a good thing for the Texas Rangers and their fans.

The Texas Rangers will finish out the season series with the Yankees tonight. Hopefully they can take their first series overall since late June against the Twins. Lets Go Rangers!
