Still Fight in the Dog Called Rangers

The Texas Rangers got down to the Rays last night 2-0, and I must say that the way the offense was looking, I thought that would be plenty for the Rays to once again blank the Rangers and win game 2 of the series. I was pleasantly surprised.

The Rangers fought back and tied the game and forced extra innings, something that the Rangers have not been good at so far in 2014. But last night Adam Rosales worked the bases loaded 2 out walk in the 14th inning to win the game. I guess good things do come to those who wait.

"“I knew he had to come to me so I had to be patient,” Rosales said according to texasrangers.com. “That’s usually my approach, but especially with the bases loaded and the game on the line.”"

None of the four pitches that Rosales saw were close, and the Rangers won the game 3-2. Scott Baker picked up his first major league win in several years. Last night, the pitching was once again above par on its performance. They never walked a batter in the 14 inning affair.

The Rangers will once again take on the Rays tonight, with Miles Mikolas on the mound. Look for him to improve off his last few starts which have been pretty good in my opinion. Very enjoyable game last night and I look forward to watching the Rangers for the rest of the season, and especially talking about what they can be next season!
