Thankful that the Texas Rangers had a great season

Thanksgiving has come and is now over, but doesn’t mean I’m still not thankful.  Besides family and other blessings in my life, I’m very thankful for the great season the Texas Rangers had.

I didn’t expect them to make the playoffs this season, but I did figure they would be a lot better than the 2014 team that was plagued with injuries.  One thing that makes me even more thankful is watching the Dallas Cowboys.  That team is pretty much going through what the Texas Rangers went through during the 2014 season with all of the big injuries.  So far this season they’ve been hurt at two of their top spots.  Quarterback Tony Romo and wide receiver Dez Bryant both have been injured throughout the season.  Yesterday Romo was knocked out for the season.

I’m thankful that the injury bug didn’t bite the Texas Rangers again this past season.  Though when the season started and the Yu Darvish, Derek Holland, and Jurickson Profar all went down with serious injuries I was a bit worried there was going to be a repeat of the 2014 season.  But, for the most part after the season started the injuries stop and Jeff Banister started to steer the team in the right direction.  Even better the direction he took them was to the American League Division Series.

I was in attendance for those ALDS games and loved the experience and atmosphere.  Playoff games just seem to have something a little extra that must be experienced in person.  Granted it was disappointing that they lost both of those games, but I’m very proud and thankful that they made it that far.  We seem to always have World Series or bust on our minds.   In my opinion it’s a very huge accomplishment to win the division and force a game 5 in against one of the best teams in baseball.

The team brought home numerous awards with Prince Fielder winning the Comeback Player of the Year and my favorite with Jeff Banister winning the American League Manager of the year award.

I know I’m not alone when I say I can’t wait for Spring Training.  The this season was very exciting and I know there is a lot more to come.  Let’s go Rangers and Never Ever Quit!
