Texas Rangers: Team Swept By The Boston Red Sox

The Texas Rangers lose game game three of their series in Boston, resulting in being swept. As a result of this sweeping, Texas drops to third place in the American League West. They’re now off to Toronto for a three-game series against the Blue Jays. Texas needs to get it together and win this series. Last thing they need is getting humiliated by Jose Bautista & company.

The Texas Rangers are 24-24. They’re now 7.5 games behind the first place Houston Astros. Again, they’re in third place now. It’s time for them to move on from this horrible series and focus on the Blue Jays. No doubt, Texas is looking for retribution against the team who swept them last season in the playoffs.

Nick Martinez stepped on the mound. He pitched 5.0 innings, allowing seven hits, four runs, and striking out four batters, thus suffering the loss, dropping to 1-3.

Bullpen managed to have a better night than last night. Dario Alvarez, Tony Barnette, and Keone Kela all played solid innings, preventing Boston from inflicting more damage. They allowed no hits, no runs, and struck out a total of only three batters.

Alex Claudio closed the game. He allowed three hits, two runs, and struck no batters. Texas’ ERA of 4.18 drops to them to 15th in the league. Two days, ago their ERA was 3.95.

Offense finished 4-for-32, striking out a team season-high 20 times! Six players struck out multiple times. Furthermore, Elvis Andrus, Rougned Odor, Mike Napoli, and Pete Kozma all went a combined 2-for-15, striking a combined 13 times! Six players failed to get a hit. Texas can’t allow this to happen again. This kind of performance is unacceptable and it doesn’t lead to victories. Somehow and someway, Texas managed to only lose by four runs.

A.J. Griffin steps on the mound tomorrow night for game one against Toronto. He’s looking to improve to 5-1. Texas must win this series to stay on pace with the Houston Astros.
