Texas Rangers: Team Bounces Back With Respectable 2-1 Win

The Texas Rangers win today’s game with a respectable 2-1 score. It appears that their momentum is not dead. After blowing a seven-run lead in last night’s loss and winning today 2-1, this must mean the momentum just wasn’t at the right place at the right time. Texas is currently in second place in the American League West standings and 12.5 games behind the first-place Astros.

A challenging night for the Texas Rangers, but definitely better than last night. In the second inning, Cleveland took a 1-0 lead. Texas finally responded in the fifth inning, making it 1-1. Things remained quiet until the top of the ninth when Texas took a 2-1 lead and they prevented Cleveland from attempting a come-from-behind win.

Tyson Ross took the mound hoping to shake off his nightmarish start against Toronto last week. He pitched 6.0 innings, allowing two hits, allowing one run, and striking out five batters. After allowing a solo homer in the second, he went on to retire the next 12 batters that stepped up to the plate. His performance is respectable, however he earned a no-decision. Regardless, he pitched a great game. In any case, he must keep it up.

However, they’re sixth in the league in homers with 114 and 27th in hits with 619.

Yu Darvish takes the mound tomorrow. He’s coming a fantastic start against the New York Yankees. If he can pitch the same way he did against New York, he’ll earn his seventh win and help put the Rangers back on the win column.
