If you’re still mourning the news of Elvis Andrus’ departure to Oakland, we get it.

But one of the newest Texas Rangers, Khris Davis, is looking to win you all, the fans, over in 2021 with his play.

Davis, who was the notable piece the Rangers acquired in last weekend’s blockbuster trade involving Elvis Andrus, catchers Aramis Garcia and Jonah Heim and pitcher Dane Acker, is ready to mash again in 2021 after a down year in 2020.

The veteran outfielder had media availability on Tuesday and said he’s ecstatic to begin a new chapter in Arlington.

Khris Davis is ready to contribute for the Texas Rangers.

"“It feels pretty right. It feels like the right move for the Texas Rangers to trade for me. Inside, I feel like it’s a new beginning to get right, to be what I can play out to, and I’m excited for the opportunity and happy to be here.”"

We sure hope this is the right move for the Texas Rangers, Khris. We love your confidence!

Keep in mind, though, Elvis Andrus wasn’t just your ordinary guy.

One of the biggest silver linings from this trade was acquiring a player who had consistently torched the Rangers every time the A’s were on the schedule.

In total, the 33-year-old hit .271 with 32 home runs and 80 RBIs against the Texas Rangers while with Oakland.

That’s a whole lot of hurt in a short amount of time.

Now, Khris Davis will hopefully be killing other teams for the Rangers.

"“Raining on the league with home runs, nothing’s a better feeling. I mean, it’s been a while, I can’t really lie to you. I don’t know the future ahead of me like that. Everybody knows how I hurt [Texas in the past], so I know what I’m here to do.”"

Texas Rangers President of Baseball Operations Jon Daniels also believes Davis has what it takes to be a major contributor to this year’s ballclub, which was starved for offense in 2020.

"“We think Khris has something to offer our club. “He’s going to get a chance to come and compete. We look forward to seeing what he’s got. Performance and the competition will dictate a lot of things — our roster, the playing time within it — but he’s definitely coming to camp, and we think he’s got more to offer.”"

2020 was a tough year for many people, “Khrush” Davis included.

2021 opens up a fresh array of possibilities, though, and it looks as if the 33-year-old Davis is excited and motivated to prove the doubters wrong while hitting dingers for the Texas Rangers.

It won’t be easy for Khris Davis to find his place on the 2021 Texas Rangers.

With competition abound on the roster, the path for Khris Davis to make the roster looks slim, at best.

Willie Calhoun sits in the DH spot currently, with David Dahl, Leody Taveras and Joey Gallo expected to occupy the starting left field, center field and right field spots, respectively, going into the season.

If Davis wants to make the Texas Rangers opening day roster in 2021, he’ll truly have to earn it.

Nevertheless, we’re enthralled by what the power-hitting Davis can potentially bring to Arlington.

All we can do for now, though, is let things play out.
