Adrian Beltre to DL; Chris Davis Recalled

Well, it looks as though thanks to Adrian Beltre’s hamstring injury from last night’s game will get us more time with Chris Davis in the Major Leagues. Now, I’m not saying that I’m happy Beltre hurt his hamstring because I would choose Beltre over Davis any day; however, I lIke Davis and I know many of you do as well.

Beltre was placed on the 15-day disabled list today due to a Grade I strain to his left hamstring. Thankfully, this is the lowest level of severity when it comes to strains so that’s a good thing at least. (more…)

Texas Rangers’ Scott Feldman: Activated or Placed on Waivers? Which Is It?

Various reports and rumors surfaced yesterday that Scott Feldman would be placed on waivers so that the Texas Rangers could outright him to AAA Round Rock.

Then last night, a reliable post surfaced saying that Scott Feldman is not being placed on waivers and will be activated from the DL today. The reliable source of course was T.R. Sullivan, who made the report last night on his blog saying:

Pitcher Scott Feldman will be activated tomorrow off the disabled list according to sources. The Rangers are still planning that move. There are reports that Feldman has been put on waivers but he will be activated by the Rangers on Thursday

I must say that I am much happier about the activation choice, assuming it is true, than the waivers choice. (more…)

Rangers’ Flame Throwing Closer Neftali Feliz Placed on DL; Cody Eppley Recalled

As if there weren’t already enough concerns in the bullpen for the Texas Rangers, now they have lost their star closer, Neftali Feliz.

“We’ve got no bona fide closer right now,” manager Ron Washington said. “It’s that simple. We’re not going to go run and hide.”

That is so true. With Feliz on the 15-day disabled list due to inflammation in his right shoulder. The move came prior to tonight’s game against the Kansas City Royals in Arlington where the Rangers will look to Alexi Ogando to get things done. However, Thursday was the last day Feliz pitched so the move was retroactive to then.

During spring training, Feliz supposedly felt a little soreness but nothing out of the ordinary so he kept pitching – vying for a spot in the starting rotation, which he ended up not being able to secure because the need for him was too great in the bullpen. (more…)
