Broke or No Broke That is the Question!

So as some of you may have noticed, I haven’t wrote anything in four days.  Usually I take Thursday and Sunday off from writing and write every other day of the week.  So my mom arrived here to Arkansas from Colorado on Thursday, so I took that day off.  I spent Friday and Saturday spending time with my wife and my family so writing was pretty much out of the picture.  Then Sunday came along.

I have had pain in my right wrist since early January and I have had it checked out twice since then, with the diagnosis being tendinitis.  So I have tried taking prescription medicine and resting it and all that fun stuff, but it still hurt.  So yesterday since my palm was swollen and hurt, somewhat being forced by my wife and mother, I decided to get it checked out.  So they X-ray’ed it for the first time yesterday and found out that it looks like I have a slight fracture of the scaphoid bone.

Once they realized the source of the pain, it was decided that I needed to have a temporary splint made out cast material placed on my arm to stabilize my wrist and thumb.  So it has been 24 hours wearing it and it has been somewhat challenging.  As of right now, I have an appointment to see an orthopedist on Wednesday. I am supposed to get a MRI done and then the doctor will decide if I need surgery or a permanent cast. I am hoping for neither but it is highly unlikely.

As far as my status as the lead blogger for Nolan Writin’, I hope to continue to be able to contribute. This situation should be more clear on Wednesday. Depending on how I feel, I hope to continue publishing content. I will update again on Wednesday with the prognosis of my wrist.
