Angels Return the Favor, Crush Rangers 15-4

It was a long night in Arlington last night, the Texas Rangers got spanked at home by the LA Angels of Anaheim. Colby Lewis went five innings but had nowhere near the velocity we have seen from him in the past. His pitch location was off and got pulled from the game pretty quickly. Lewis allowed five hits and four runs. Mason Tobin came in to relieve Lewis and gave up three runs (two earned), in only a third of an inning. Tobin left the game with tightness in his elbow, this is the same elbow that he has had previous surgeries on. The Rule-5 pick is scheduled for an MRI on Wednesday.

Michael Kirkman, recently called up from AAA Round Rock, was pretty horrible as well. Kirkman who hasn’t really performed well at the minor league level, went 1.2 innings. The pitcher went 1.2 innings giving up six runs  (five earned). Dave Bush pitched the last two innings and gave up two runs (one earned).

There was also a play where a ball was hit to David Murphy in left field. Murphy missed the ball and it went all the way to the wall. With two men on base the batter, Peter Bourjous, was able to make it all the way home on the play allowing three runs on the error.

Our friends over at Halo Hangout have a recap as well.

This game wore me out, I’m really looking forward to Harrison taking the mound tonight, hopefully the Rangers will rebound and get the series win.
