Oakland’s Young Pitching Dominates the Rangers

The Texas Rangers lose again, this time to the Oakland Athletics 7 to 2. So in five games against the division rival the Rangers have only won one game. C.J. Wilson had a tough outing for the Rangers and didn’t get any run support; the opposite was true for Trevor Cahill of the A’s.

We’ll go through Wilson’s game first, the lefty picked up his second loss of the season. C.J. went seven innings allowing two hits and five earned runs. This was the type of game C.J. is known for he gave away five walks and two strikeouts. This is a tough one for Wilson, but is training regimen is second to none, and should get back to work tomorrow and brush off the loss.

Trevor Cahill who is in line for the Cy Young award at this point has picked up his sixth win of the year (no losses). Cahill matched Wilson with seven inning, but allowed hits and only one run. That run was a solo home run from Mitch Moreland; Moreland has murdered good pitching this year.

Ryan Tucker had another tough outing out of the bullpen allowing two hits and two runs without recording a single out. Brett Tomko cleaned up the mess and went two innings with no hits and no runs.

Another tough loss for the Rangers, they have to rebound quickly as they meet the A’s again tonight at 7:05pm. We get another chance to see how Colby Lewis does, and if his velocity will start returning.
