The Texas Rangers played an intersquad game on Monday and both Yu Darvish and Tommy Hanson pitched scoreless innings. Hanson struck out two of the three batters he faced and Darvish struck out one. For a full recap of the game be sure and go to texasrangers.com.

The Texas Rangers also extended Ron Washington‘s contract through the year 2015. (story) Wash, although he has made some mistakes during his time ans skipper of the Texas Rangers, has done a very good job overall and I personally am glad that they decided to extend him now instead of waiting and making it an issue during the season.

Matt Harrison was cleared by his doctor yesterday to resume baseball activities (story). He was sleeping on a bed that was too soft. Glad that is all that it was, but I am hearing that he will not be ready for opening day now because he is behind.

"#Rangers said it’s unlikely Matt Harrison will make Opening Day rotation, but still “very good news” after today’s evaluation.— Drew Davison (@drewdavison) February 24, 2014Washington got a little upset when a reporter brought up bunting and analytics yesterday. Ron is going to continue bunting and that is that. If Texas Rangers fans thought differently, they were wrong. (story) Today there will be another intersquad game and we will see more pitchers hurl. Games start soon so get excited people! #Rangers said it’s unlikely Matt Harrison will make Opening Day rotation, but still “very good news” after today’s evaluation.— Drew Davison (@drewdavison) February 24, 2014"
