The Texas Rangers bench is not yet filled out, but it is getting close. I believe that one of the last bench spots will go to either Kevin Kouzmanoff or Brent Lillibridge. Both have performed well in spring training, both have spent time in the major leagues, and both are working hard to try to earn one of those last spots on the bench.

Brent Lillibridge signed with the Texas Rangers in hopes to get back to the majors, and he has a line of .333/.318/.476 in 21 at bats so far. He has taken one deep and has 4 RBI, while striking out three times. My concern with Lillibridge is the fact that he has not walked yet. Kevin Kouzmanoff, on the other hand has 3 walks while striking out 6 times in 35 at bats. He has a line of .343/.425/4.57. My concern with Kouz is that he seems to have good springs and then not play well in the regular season.

So who should the Texas Rangers pick between these two guys? My eyes tell me that Kouz is

having a great spring and he should get the bench spot, but I also know that Lillibridge is a very good defender. I think that Kouz will get the spot eventually, but Lillibridge could do something to win out. It will be fun to continue watching these two gentleman perform and attempt to win that elusive spot on the Texas Rangers opening day roster!
