Surprise, Ariz – It is beginning to see like every player on the Texas Rangers has seen Dr. Keith Meister this spring training.  Jurickson Profar was recently cleared to play by him and now Elvis Andrus, Shin-Soo Choo and Mitch Moreland will be evaluated by him.

It is starting to seem like there is a line of players waiting to see Dr. Meister.  I wonder if they have to sit in a waiting room watching Steve Harvey host the Family Feud on mute like everyone else does.  Hopefully not, but it does seem like almost every Texas Rangers player has or is seeing him.

It does seem most of the injuries and time off has just been precautionary.

On a positive note, Elvis Andrus had an MRI exam on Tuesday, which showed no structural damage to his elbow.  Dr. Meister will exam him today and determine the next steps.  Andrus is likely sore because of his lack of activities during the offseason.  Andrus has typically plays offseason ball, but this offseason he spent his time in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.  Also, he said he didn’t workout or throw much.  It is likely that is the source of his soreness.

Also, Shin-Soo Choo said he is typically sore and has issues during spring training, he’ll be evaluated today.  The Texas Rangers and Choo don’t expect any setback or issues.   Mitch Moreland will be examined also, but should resume batting practice today.  Moreland could miss Opening day, but the current plan is to have him play on Sunday.  Another one to get bit by the injury bug is Brent Lillibridge.  He left yesterday’s game with soreness in his right hamstring.  No news yet on his condition.

It is starting to seem like spring training is more like and episode of Survivor.  Those left standing to make the 25-man roster!  Luckily, there haven’t been any thing serious to happen during camp, besides a possible a few bad mattress.  At this point, almost everyone that will make the 25-man roster will ready to play.
