Opening Day Ex-Texas Rangers

The Texas Rangers had some offense going yesterday, we all know that. But for those of you that were wondering how some of the other former Texas Rangers players did, I am going tell you!

Detroit Tigers – Ian Kinlser is the new lead off man for the Tigers, and his debut in a Detroit uniform did not go very well at all. Kinsler went 0-4 with no walks. Kinsler did just a little bit worse than Texas Rangers lead-off man Shin-Soo Choo, who went 0-4 with a walk and a strikeout. I have a feeling that Ian Kinsler will do fine as a Tiger, but so far he and Choo have the same batting average.

Baltimore Orioles – Nelson Cruz went 1-2 with a walk and the game winning home run. Cruz looked good at the plate and I am sure that the O’s are happy with him so far. Chris Davis struck out twice and was 0-3 overall, and former Texas Rangers pitcher Tommy Hunter got the save by pitching a scoreless ninth inning.

Boston Red Sox – Mike Napoli was 1-2 with 2 walks. Typical Napoli. A.J. Pierzynski was 1-4 in his Red Sox debut. The Red Sox lost to the O’s on the previously mentioned Cruz home run.

Cleveland Indians – David Murphy was 1-4 with 2 strikeouts in his Indians debut yesterday, as Cleveland defeated the Athletics 2-0. Murphy scored one of the two runs. I still like David Murphy and I wish him the best in Cleveland, except of course when they are playing the Texas Rangers!

L.A. Angels of Anaheim – Josh Hamilton was 1-3 with a walk and a strike out in the Angels 10-3 loss to the Mariners. I expect Hamilton to have a big year in 2014, I just don’t see him having another season like he did last season.

Houston Astros – Tonight Scott Feldman takes the hill against the NY Yankees, and we all hope he does well!

There is a look around the league at the day that some ex-Texas Rangers had yesterday!
