The Texas Rangers thumped the Chicago White Sox last night in Arlington 12-0, and it was good to see the offense hitting on all cylinders on a night that Martin Perez was continuing to show just how good of a pitcher he really is. This is not an article about Martin Perez, I will save that article for another time. This is about game 2 between the White Sox and your Texas Rangers!

Tonight’s match up puts Colby Lewis (0-1, 6.75 ERA) up against Jose Quintana (1-0, 2.37 ERA). Quintana is obviously off to a good start, and Colby Lewis’ start was not as bad as the number show it to be. Should be a good match up tonight, but I would not expect to see the Texas Rangers pitch another shut out against the American Leagues most prolific offense so far in 2014. Although it would be great if they did!

Starting Line ups:

Texas Rangers –

1. Shin-Soo Choo DH

2. Elvis Andrus SS

3. Alex Rios – RF

4. Prince Fielder – 1B

5. Kevin Kouzmanoff – 3B

6. Michael Choice – LF

7. Robinson Chirinos – C

8. Leonys Martin – CF

9. Josh Wilson – 2B

Choo is DH’ing against the tough left hander and Mitch Moreland is getting another night off, while Choice gets the start in left field. As we heard earlier today, Jim Adduci was injured last night sliding into second and is on the DL, so Luis Sardinas has been called up. I don’t expect to see him get into the game tonight.

Chicago White Sox

1. Adam Eaton – CF

2. Marcus Semien – 2B

3. Conor Gillaspie – 3B

4. Jose Abreu – 1B

5. Adam Dunn – DH

6. Dayan Viciedo – RF

7. Alexi Ramirez – SS

8. Tyler Flowers – C

9. Jordan Danks – LF

I expect this to be a low scoring game, and I expect to see Colby Lewis go 5-6 innings and be on a pretty short leash if he starts to give up runs. The game is at 7:05 at the Globe. Get out there if you can! If not, watch on FSSW and cheer on your Texas Rangers with us on twitter and on Facebook!
