According to Gerry Fraley of SportsDayDFW, Adrian Beltre, the injured Texas Rangers third baseman is targeting Friday as his return date. Adrian Beltre has been out since April 8, and his return would be welcomed by Texas Rangers fans everywhere. Kevin Kouzmanoff has done a really good job as Beltre’s replacement, but as Kouzmanoff himself stated, no one replaces Adrian Beltre.

Beltre wants to be back to start the weekend series with his former club the Mariners. If you have been watching the Texas Rangers games, then you have seen that he can appear to be going just a little stir crazy on the bench sometimes, and sometimes he will have some “helpful tips” for his teammates while he is sitting on the front row of the dugout. Adrian Beltre is a guy that does not like to be on the disabled list, as he tried to argue this stint on the list.

My feelings are that the Texas Rangers are not going to rush Adrian Beltre back sooner than they think he is ready. As mentioned, Kouzmanoff is playing really well and the Texas Rangers have won five of their last six games. The organization is going to want to be 100% sure that Adrian Beltre is not going to have a relapse of the injury when he gets back if they can avoid it. Beltre continues to be one of the best third baseman in all of the game, and having him on the field for a majority of the season is more important than getting him back in my opinion. Hopefully he will be ready to go Friday!
