Shin-Soo Choo, the Texas Rangers left fielder, injured his ankle in last nights 4-2 victory over the Oakland Athletics (read about it here). The Texas Rangers took x-rays of the left fielder’s leg and they turned out negative, but Shin-Soo Choo is still feeling some pain and discomfort in the left ankle.

“I hit the bag hard, I don’t know what happened but I wasn’t comfortable and didn’t want to make it worse.” Shin-Soo Choo said according to TexasRangers.com

Shin-Soo Choo will have an MRI today and is very likely to miss the next two games against division rival Oakland, which means that Michael Choice will probably make both starts in left field while Choo sits the rest of the series out. Choice is still getting his feet wet at the major league level and this could be a big two games for him to show why the Texas Rangers wanted him and were willing to trade fan favorite Craig Gentry to get him. I think that Choice will be a little nervous going up against his old team tonight, but hopefully once the game settles in he will play like we know he can play.

All we can do at this point is cross our fingers and hope that Shin-Soo Choo is not the next Texas Rangers player to have to go on the disabled list. I think the Rangers have had their fair share already in that department.
