As if the Texas Rangers didn’t get enough bad news earlier this week about the starting rotation with Martin Perez having elbow issues, now Matt Harrison left tonight’s Texas Rangers game with am apparent injury.
Matt Harrison was pitching fine when his velocity just didn’t look right. His change up and his fastball appeared to both be in the mid 80’s. That brought out Ron Washington, Mike Maddux and a slew of trainers to look at and talk to the left hander.
Ever since the Texas Rangers paid Matt Harrison the big contract after the 2012 season, he has not been able to stay on the field. The hope from this Texas Rangers fan is that this back stiffness is nothing serious and it is some sort of fluke thing that will not keep Matt out for long. The Texas Rangers cannot afford to have another pitcher go on the disabled list. Derek Holland, Tanner Scheppers (DL), Martin Perez, Robbie Ross all are not scheduled to pitch anytime soon.
This season has been a nightmare as far as health goes for the Texas Rangers, and the last year plus had been a nightmare for Matt Harrison. We will update you here as soon as we know anything else about Matt Harrison, as soon as the Texas Rangers release something.
