As bad as the Texas Rangers season has been going in 2014 with a now staggering 20 players landing on the DL at some point, it is nice to know that every fifth day we can settle in and see a gem from Texas Rangers superstar Yu Darvish. Not since Nolan Ryan (the pitcher) have the Texas Rangers had a guy that we could all be this excited about to see pitch. I know I will make sure to watch any game he is pitching, but then again I watch most games.
Yu Darvish is now 6-2 on the season with a 2.36 ERA on the season, which is good enough to have him in fourth place in ERA in the American League. He has also struck out 101 on the season. Tonight he threw his first ever complete game, and it happened to
be a shutout to boot. We have all come to expect the greatness that is Yu Darvish right now, which is much needed right now with the injury situation and the fact that this team is very young around him. Yu Darvish is calm and collected on the mound, and it really seems to be working between himself and Chris Gimenez.
Yu Darvish is only going to get better this season, and I can’t wait to watch his next start. In fact, it almost feels like Christmas every time Yu Darvish takes the mound, which is awsome, because it means that Texas Rangers fans get Christmas every five days. Let’s see if the Texas Rangers can keep the winning alive this weekend in Seattle. Lets Go Rangers, and Lets Go Yu Darvish!
