Yu Darvish Exacts His Revenge

Yu Darvish was down 2-1 in the fifth inning in New York last week when the game was ended there due to “tarpgate”. He was a man on a mission last night in Arlington, and it showed when he got his eighth and final strikeout of the game to end the seventh.

The Texas Rangers offense did all their damage at the plate in one inning, but that was enough for Yu Darvish to get his tenth victory of the season.

"“Every win counts at this point,” catcher Chris Gimenez said after the game according to texasrangers.com. “I know that’s kind of cliche to say. Every win obviously counts, but I think at this point, it’s by all means one game at a time. We’re looking for stuff to build off of.”"

The Texas Rangers have now won every series opener since the All-Star break. Yu Darvish was visibly upset after the rain shortened game in New York, and he seemed to bring his “A” game against the Yankees last night. It was nice to see him show that emotion.

Now it would be nice to see the Texas Rangers win a game that is not a series opener, something that they have not done since the break. Tonight Nick Martinez takes the hill.
