Rangers Trade Chris Gimenez

The Texas Rangers have dealt catcher Chris Gimenez to the Cleveland Indians according to John Blake.

Chris Gimenez had a really good start with the Rangers but was sent down a little while ago when Geovany Soto became healthy and available, leaving no room for Gimenez. This is a good deal for Chris, as he gets to go straight to the Indians major league roster. Chris Gimenez was a fan favorite while he was up with the Rangers and had a very hot bat on for a while on a team that did not have many hot bats at all at the time. Robinson Chirinos and Brett Nicholas are making it hard to Chris Gimenez to get a roster spot in 2015, so this move is what is best for both parties in my opinion.

Chris Gimenez was a class act all the way around and he will be missed, and I wish him nothing but the best in his new home. The Ranger will now move forward at the catching position without him, and we now know one guy that will not be fighting for the catchers spot in 2015.
