The Texas Rangers claim left-handed relief pitcher Edgar Olmos from the Seattle Mariners off waivers.
Rangers have received LHP Edgar Olmos on waivers from Seattle. INF Jurickson Profar has been placed on the 60 day DL to make room.

The Mariners, who claimed Olmos off waivers from the Miami Marlins, designated the soon-to-be 25-year old (4/12) for assignment when they signed Rickie Weeks earlier this month.Olmos

In 2014, Edgar Olmos split time between the Marlins’ Double-A and Triple-A teams where he compiled a combined record of 3-3 with a 4.06 ERA and three saves over 77.2 innings pitched.
His only big-league action came in 2013 where he pitched 5.0 innings giving up 7 hits and 9 earned runs over 5 games.
I suspect he will be in competition with Alex Claudio for a spot in the bullpen.
The Texas Rangers placed Jurickson Profar on the 60-day disabled list to make room on the roster for Olmos. Profar underwent shoulder surgery on Monday to repair a labrum tear in his right shoulder. The Rangers expect him to miss the entire 2015 season, making it two straight for the 22-year old infielder.
With the sample size of Edgar Olmos, it is hard to set any logical expectations for him. But this isn’t really the “miracle lefty” I was hoping for. Although, we might all be surprised what he could be capable of. (Fingers crossed)
The Texas Rangers now have 64 players at camp – full 40-man roster, 23 non-roster invitees, and one on the 60-day DL (Profar).
ONLY 40 DAYS UNTIL TEXAS RANGERS PLAY FIRST GAME OF THE SEASON!
