At this point it feels like all aspects of the Texas Rangers are a failure but it's not all negative and there are some bright spots on an otherwise downfall of a roster.

In the midst of a four-game losing streak and fresh off a no-hitter at the hands of their bitter in-state rivals, the Rangers are in desperate need of refresh, something better. Here's a few examples of who to keep and who to ditch.

2 Rangers players who have lost trust of fanbase

Evan Carter, OF

Oh, how the mighty have fallen. A once 21-year-old rising star who made his MLB Debut on the tail end of a regular season that ended in the franchise's first trip to the postseason in nearly seven years. Carter helped carry Texas to a World Series title in 2023 but ever since has been a dissapointment.

Marked by injuries and lackluster production, the Tennessee native is down to a .163 average and ugly .591 OPS and despite his five home runs, 15 RBIs, nine stolen bases and knack for finding a way on base via walks, not much promise is there.

He's beginning to appear more like a fourth outfielder, bench role player than the star fans were promised when he burst onto the scene three years ago.

Chris Martin, RHP

It's about time to end this Chris Martin experience that the organization felt was strong enough to not only re-sign him over the offseason but demote a promising young arm in Gavin Collyer back down to Triple-A Round Rock when Martin was reinstated from the IL last week.

Thankfully, the team has since brought Collyer back but Martin's return hasn't been smooth. In the two games back, he's pitched two innings with two earned runs, a walk, no strikeouts and surrendered a crucial home run over the weekend in Anaheim.

Worth a -0.5 WAR this year, Martin has only appeared in 10 games for a 1-1 record, 7.56 ERA, 1.92 WHIP and has given up two homers and 15 runs have scored on his watch.

2 Rangers players that fans are excited to see play every day

Ezequiel Duran, INF/OF

A welcomed improvement, it was beginning to look like the Joey Gallo trade hadn't turned out all so positive for Texas. After his emergence with Corey Seager down during the first half of the 2023 season, Duran went two seasons of lackluster production.

This year, he's latched on to a newfound sense of confidence, which finds him with a .277 average, four home runs, 24 RBIs, 21 runs scored, 13 walks and four stolen bases. Mostly playing shortstop over the last few weeks, the 26-year-old has a 1.5 WAR and 33 percent on-base rate.

Hard to imagine, but the player who failed to hit a single home run in 2025, has now become one of the Rangers' most reliable hitters.

Josh Jung, 3B

Despite a shoulder scare this weekend, Jung is easily the brightest spot on the roster. Batting .302, the former Texas Tech Red Raider has the 13th best average in Major League Baseball and has mixed in five home runs and 21 RBIs in his 48 games.

Just like Carter, his future was in jepoardy the last season or two, after several injuries and inconsistent performances at the plate had people questioning what Jung's future with the organization held. Those talks maginified after an 0-for-19 start to the year but since then have practically whispered away.

Now, the 27-year-old is on track to make his second All-Star Game this summer in Philadelphia and is earning more repsect among the roster where he could be the team's future third baseman for years to come.
