Texas Rangers (9-1) vs Detroit Tigers (3-7) 12:05 Central
By Editorial Staff

Today the Texas Rangers play another noon game (yuck) against the Detroit Tigers. After yesterday’s win against the Tigers’ ace the Rangers should have the momentum going into this week’s game.
LHP C.J. Wilson (1-0) takes the mound for the Rangers. After two strong appearances, he appears to have picked up where he left off last season. This April in two starts he’s thrown 12.2 innings, allowing twelve hits and four earned runs. Wilson has posted a solid 2.84 ERA to start the season.
Here is Detroit’s lineup against Wilson.
Austin Jackson, CF
Ramon Santiago, 2B
Ryan Raburn, LF
Miguel Cabrera, 1B
Victor Martinez, C
Brennan Boesch, DH
Jhonny Peralta, SS
Brandon Inge, 3B
Casper Wells, RF
Rangers Lineup and more after the jump… RHP Brad Penny (0-1) takes the mound for the Tigers. This season has not been kind to Penny, in two appearances he has pitched 9.2 innings and allowed 13 hits and 12 earned runs. Penny has an early season ERA of 11.17. The right-hander has some work ahead of him if he wants to get back to his 15+ wins seasons of the past.
Here is the Rangers lineup against Penny
Elvis Andrus, SS
Michael Young, 2B
Josh Hamilton, DH
Adrian Beltre, 3B
Nelson Cruz, RF
David Murphy, LF
Yorvit Torrealba, C
Mitch Moreland, 1B
Julio Borbon, CF
Ian Kinsler gets his first day off of the season, and Josh Hamilton will start at DH. According to Ron Washington Hamilton may get his first day off on Wednesday. I think we are starting to see the benefits, of having 12 players worthy of playing every day.
