I had a sick kiddo today so I wasn’t able to provide you guys with a detailed preview but here is a mini preview along with tonight’s lineups in which the Rangers are hosting the White Sox with Derek Holland starting on the mound for the Rangers. The Rangers will look for a second win in this series.

After Ogando’s performance last night, which was his first ever complete game shutout, Holland has a lot of expectations to meet tonight. Will he be able to do the same or at least get close?

Pitching Matchups

Jake Peavy starts for the White Sox. He is 1-0 for the season over three starts and has an ERA of 2.40. He came off the DL May 11 after recovering from shoulder surgery, which was required after his latissimus dorsi muscle became detached in his right shoulder. His last time out was a complete nine-inning game shutout, his fifth shutout and ninth complete game in his career, against Cleveland in which he allowed just three hits.

His only career start in which he suffered a loss was against the Rangers in Arlington just over a year ago.

Derek Holland is 3-1 with a 4.37 ERA and hasn’t won in his previous five starts. His last time out was at Kansas City in which the 24-year-old allowed just one run on nine hits over eight innings but received a no decision in the 2-1 loss.
Holland is 0-1 against the White Sox with an earned run average of 6.75. He is 2-0 at home with a 6.33 earned run average.
